FAQ

Question: “How do I buy your artwork?”

I personally create the limited edition prints in the size you want. I use a professional print service specializing in Giclee prints. I create the print within Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to exact specifications. When it is returned, I personally inspect every print before I initial and number them. What are Giclee prints? I am glad you asked that question, and I answer below. Editions are limited to no more than 50 plus 10 artist proofs which I reserve for myself. Prices start at $100.00. Contact me at my email address to discuss details.

When you visit my Portfolios pages and click on a photograph, you will be taken to the Fine Art America site where you can purchase the image. These are commercially printed, archival quality, art images and products. If you want one of them as a limited edition print, please contact me personally.

I create photographic images in various styles.  I enjoy many different looks, from abstract to natural, from posterized to lightly edited.  The style I chose depends on the subject and assignment. You may find something you like. (By the way, “posterized” means the process whereby areas of detail may become broad blocks of surreal color and tone.)

Question: “How do I obtain your services?”

My photographic services include Events, Environmental Portraiture, and Real Estate photography, Digital Photo Editing, and Photographic Instruction. I teach small classes in photography, both group classes and personal one-on-one classes, in digital and film. The first step is for you to contact me by email. Contact me at my email address to discuss your needs. I can provide you samples of my work and references.

Question: “Do you have any reviews of your work?” I have reviews of my services, such as events and portraits. Here is a link to my business on Google. It contains reviews. Here are a couple 5-star reviews I copied from my site:

We are so glad to have Paces Mountain Photography for our event. Bill is an excelente and experienced photographer, very professional who came, did his work, became part of the event, you wouldn't even notice he was taking so many great pictures, and very next day we had our copies. Thank you Bill, you are awesome” From Walter Da Silva of Smyrna, Georgia. I photographed an event for his organization.

“Bill is professional and easy to work with. His rates are good and he also will give you a lot of help with picking venues and overall atmosphere of the photos. He did our family photos (with dogs too) and it went extremely smoothly.” From Laura H. Tanaka, of Lawrenceville, Georgia. I photographed her family on location in Smyrna.

Question: “Where do I find your stock photography?”

I sell my stock photography through Shutterstock. You can find my portfolio at this link - click here.

Question: “What is the story behind the name Paces Mountain?”

Paces Mountain is a hill that overlooks the Chattahoochee River, north of Atlanta. I-285 runs just by it. It is all very developed now, but when I was growing up, the mountain, if you will, was wild and remote. Native tribes called it home for thousands of years before being driven out by the government. Hardy Pace was a wealthy landowner and developer and one of the founders of Atlanta. The Pace family had property there and there was a family cemetery. The area is also called Vinings and Paces Crossroads. There was a ferry across the river in the 1800’s. When I-75 was being built north of Atlanta, a friend and I used to go rock hounding in the excavated land. I adopted the name for my LLC because I liked how it sounded, there was no copyright or trademark on it, that I could find, and mostly because I grew up in the area and explored it as a kid. I use it for my photography business and my band. I’ll be changing the domain name of this website to Bill Hunton Photography soon, to avoid confusion, but I intend to hold onto the LLC I formed, Paces Mountain Association, LLC, at least while it is a viable business.

Question: What are Giclee Prints?

The term Giclee is derived from a French word meaning to spray. The process is the finest photographic printing process available. It is a ten or twelve color printing process on heavy weight, very high quality, artist paper such as watercolor paper, for example. Giclee prints are tested and are of archival stability, for as many as 300 years and beyond. Compared to a high quality home print on Epson paper for example, they are usually much lighter weight, and the process is usually four-color, perhaps 6-color. The depth and richness of Giclee colors, shades of gray to black, and detail are remarkably better than printing them on an amateur printer.
