    Gemstones

A simple post. Here are a couple gems I found while digging in old photographs and negatives. The first is a photograph of my oldest daughter’s hair. I vividly recall taking the picture. I thought at the time something like, “Wow! There is a thing going on here.” What thing? Perhaps it was inspiration. Perhaps it was indigestion. Bad pizza causes gas and visions. My Daughter’s Hair Next up is a sweet moment when my youngest child was being introduced to her older sist

    Old Negatives

In other of my posts I’ve told about going through old photographs and negatives, organizing them, and looking for a few gems among the tens of thousands. That is no exaggeration, and I may be understating the number. However, I’m optimistic that I can save my family from getting frustrated by it all when I pass on, getting irritated at me, and just tossing them in a landfill for the archeologists to find. Gosh! The technique and the rather tedious process underscored my feeling on the subject of photography and especially regarding the subject seated the chair, my son. It was important to me at the time, and especially now, that I have family records to pass down. Jesse It’s been interesting as friends have migrated from the North to Atlanta, and we

    The Reunion

This one is a bit more personal. I’ll only post one photograph. I thought this photo represents the idea of a family reunion. Even though the family site is public, in order to provide some privacy, I won’t post everything, especially of the children. We have to protect them. There is truly evil in the world. The following story is sad. Our family is close and extended. We have a large family reunion every year. There is a lot of very good food that most cardiologists

    The Need for Less

When I started photographing, it was all about friends and fun. My gear was a Kodak Instamatic 126. Photography was all about friends and fun. It was about the moment, what we were doing. It was about girls I liked, too. I remember a cold wet November Saturday. We were all students. Us guys were all Georgia Tech students, except my younger brother who I invited along, and girls were from Georgia Baptist School of Nursing (now part of Mercer University), and from Georgia State
